As I wrote in my pervious posts, one of the greatest sources of a higher traffic is the optimization of the proper keywords and in order to do this we must be able to search out high trend, low density keywords or what I call personally as HITLOD. I've always believed that there are only two things that you need to do to become a successful blogger. I call them having good “Fundamentals” and good “technicals” (Just like investing in the stock market hehehehe…) What I refer to as good Fundamentals is the writing of good content, having a good and search engine friendly blog template and having a good layout of your blog. Searching for keywords to optimize is always fun! Most of the times you will be surprised what people are searching for when they are browsing the internet. I have discussed this before in my Googel = Googol = ? post. But for those of you who did not read my previous posts here is a little bit of explanation. As I told you before one of the keys to traffic is the look for “high traffic or high trend, low density” words. By high trend we mean there are thousands of people looking for the word. This can easily be determined by going to google trends and typing your keyword. When it shows a graph that means that the word you entered is being searched by hundreds or even thousands of people. I mentioned earlier that I will resume my blogging activities on the first week of April. But a post by Marghil at macuha.com, really intrigued me. He mentioned that a blogger named Eli discovered two interesting keyword. Those are the keywords Googel and Googol. Keywords are very important to bloggers because it will bring us more traffic. The more traffic you have the more page impressions you will have, the more chances of people clicking your ads and the more chances of you selling products. Whatever kind of commercial activities that a blogger is involved whether it is pay per click, pay per impression pay per visit, pay per whatsoever or selling affiliate products, the most important thing is the traffic. How on earth did one dumb youtube video got more than 6 million views and what we could learn from it
The video has been added to youtube about 9 months ago, the exact date is May 22, 2007. To date, it has received a total of 7,764 comments in youtube and has been “favorited “43,030 times. It has been the referenced in about 106,000 website to date. Search for it has reached a considerable amount of volume that statistics for its search has already made it to Google Trends (Google trends only graphs searches that has become popular through the use of a certain algorithm) So popular is the video that the phrase “Charlie bit me“ itself has been used by several webmasters and several venture capitalist to make money out of it. In fact the boy’s mother released this statement in youtube “I have noticed that the phrase Charlie bit me is catching on and people are trying to profit of it . . .” I don’t blame the mother.
