Boxing loving Cebuanos will be in for a treat again tonight, Saturday, February 21, 2009 as veteran boxer Gerry “Fearless” Peñalosa who originally hails from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental (My wife’s birthplace) will take on a young Mexican fighter, German “Panteonero” Meraz in the fight dubbed as “Battle of the Bantam fighters” to be held at the Cebu City Coliseum. Gerry Peñalosa’s 53-6-2 with 36 KOs compared with the 22 year old Meraz’ 20-11-1 with 8 KOs may seem to show that the scale is tilted in favor of Gerry.
