I found out about Blog Action Day just today while I was blog hopping. I find the concept unique, creative and something that’s worth joining. Earning income is not my only passion for blogging. I also want to contribute to the good of society through my blogging and joining Blog Action Day is just one of those avenues wherein I can somehow contribute back to society. According to their blogsite Blog Action Day is “an annual nonprofit event that aims to unite the world’s bloggers, podcasters and videocasters, to post about the same issue on the same day.” Their aim is to raise awareness and trigger a global discussion. Again, I say that this is a really cool idea. (But the name is not so cool because “Blog Action Day” spells B.A.D and we don’t want to be BAD, we want to be GOOD hehehehe) This year’s Blog Action Day topic is “Poverty.” No specific topic in poverty is given. I would surmise that most articles would be about a solution to the "poverty problem.”. Last year (2007) it … [Read more...]
Sarah Palin speech video shows how she can bring the Mccain campaign
Watching the Sarah Palin speech video in the Republican National Convention made me believe that John McCain’s decision in picking making her as vice Presidential candidate is probably the best move he made this election. I’ve watch John McCain give a speech and I’ve watched Obama give one. Sad to say in my own personal opinion, John McCain’s speech is so boring that I think he would fall asleep if he listened to his own speech. It's better that John McCain give out promotional pens so voters will remember him rather than giving a speech. It’s not that I don’t like Republicans; in fact if I were an American citizen, I would choose to be a Republican, because I support the Republican’s stand on most issues. Enter Sarah Palin, young, energetic and unexposed in the national level yet with a great track record. The Sarah Palin speech video shows how she has “brought life” to the John McCain campaign.. In the Sarah Palin speech video you might be able to conclude that she may not be … [Read more...]

This coming Monday July 28, 2008, our President, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will give his annual State of the Nation Address (SONA). In the United States the State of the Nation Address is known as the “State of the Union address.” All systems go for this coming Monday’s State of the Nation Address. Traffic has been re-routed and schools in Quezon City have declared no classes. Security has been beefed up in the area and even the president’s new dress is already prepared. Health is wealth. . . But who is getting really wealthy?
Health is wealth. We use to often hear that saying. The phrase actually means that if you have good health you are wealthy, for the true measure of wealth is not only money. But could this saying have a different meaning? What if the saying has a literal meaning for some people? Well, in the Philippines for some it really does. Today the market is saturated with so called “Herbal food supplements” and savvy business people are catching on to this herbal food supplements food craze. I have nothing against herbal food supplements. In fact I take several of them myself everyday. Some of them are even highly recommended by good and reputable doctors. What I am against is the marketing of this product as a “cure all.” While it is true that some herbal food supplements are very effective against certain diseases, the fact that the Philippines’ bureau of food and drugs has only labeled these products as “food supplements” they should only be marketed as such. What is worse is … [Read more...]
Is Jun Lozada really helping the country?
The name Jun Lozada is unheard of months ago. Nobody knew who he was until recently he became the “star witness” of the ZTE-NBN broadband scandal. For those of you who do not know what the ZTE-NBN broadband deal is, this deal is made between the Philippine government and the People's Republic of China through a Chinese government entity named ZTE. The project had a good intention which is to link government offices and establishments all over the country in order to improve the delivery of services to the common Filipino. Its educational application could also do wonders for our waning educational. The deal was formally scrapped by the president due to rumors that people who were involved in this deal made money out of it.. The key witness in this controversy is a man by the name of Jun Lozada. Jun Lozada does not claim to be a saint. He said this himself and I totally admire his “humility” in telling people that he is just a sinner like you and me. His message is that he is a … [Read more...]
