My name is Zigfred Diaz and I am a polymath. After more than 6 years of bloging about almost anything under the sun and having sort of a "blogging identity crisis." The Philippines, still home of the world’s smallest deer?

News recently came out that the world’s smallest deer,  Rupert was born. Actually there seem to be a mistake in the headlines. Rupert is not the world’s smallest deer, Rupert is the world’s smallest deer ever to be born. Rupert’s mother was hit be a car. Veterinarians had to do a cesarean section on his mother in order to deliver the baby deer. Rupert only weighed, 500 grams and was only 6 inches tall making him hold the record of the world’s smallest deer ever to be born. For a number of years, the Philippines used to be known as the home of the world’s smallest deer which is the Philippine Mouse-deer. The Philippine Mouse deer can only be found in Balabac and nearby smaller islands south-west of Palawan in the Philippines. Now they say that they have discovered the smallest deer somewhere in the Himalayas. Videos of the Chicago Air and Water Show 2009

This coming Saturday, August 15 and August 16, 2009, the City of Chicago, Illinois U.S.A will be holding the Chicago Air and Water Show 2009. Chicago Air and Water Show is America’s largest free air and water show and is considered one of the world’s largest spectator shows. About 2.2 million gather in Chicago every year to watch the Chicago Air and Water Show. This year, despite the economic crisis, all systems go for the Chicago Air and Water Show 2009 ! Show starts at 10 a.m and ends at 4 p.m. Both the air and water events have been combined to one continuous show. Most of the events will take place at North Avenue Beach; however most of the activities can be viewed in the city skyline and lakefront. I wish I will be personally there to see the events take place, anyway I’ll just watch it in youtube. Willie Revillame suspended?

Willie Revillame suspended for his reaction to Cory Aquino’s burial ? I don’t believe it. In fact ABS-CBN denies it and says that Willie Revillame asked for 2 weeks of  orlando vacations. If indeed Willie Revillame is suspended, I think it is very unjust of ABS-CBN to do that to him. In fact as I said in my post entitled “In defense of Willie Revillame’s reaction to Cory Aquino’s burial” I believe that Willie Revillame should even be commended for what he did. Whoever is in charge of production or traffic at that time that showed the burial procession with Wowowee should be the one that should be suspended. People are just making a mountain out of a molehill. They are so “outraged” by their misinterpretation of Willie Revillame’s statement. The MTCRB has joined in the craze and said that Willie Revillame violated their code of ethics. (What violation ? What is Oleophobic coating Oleophobic Ole what ? The term Oleophobic must be quite new as my word processor does not even recognized it. heheheheh :-) (Oleophobic x 100 say it a hundred times and it's good tounge twister hehehe):-) The term Oleophobic is defined by the dictionary  means “having or relating to a lack of strong affinity for oils” (Apple could have used a much simpler term, why not use “smudge resistant.” hehehehe) One of the iphone’s new feature is that the screen has a “fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating” A “fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating” on screens was something that is missing in earlier iPhones. Since the iPhone is a touch screen device and that it has no external keyboard, most of the time the screen would look smudged since users would be using their finger more frequently to access features on the device. In defense of Willie Revillame’s reaction to Cory Aquino’s burial

Willie Revillame has once again created a controversy. I am not surprised by this since his showbiz career has been very controversial. This time the controversy is focused on Willie Revillame reaction to Cory Aquino’s burial. As we all know Cory Aquino, loved by millions of Filipinos was buried last August 5, 2009. While the funeral procession was going on, ABS-CBN showed the burial procession side be side with the popular variety show WOWOWEE. The format of WOWOWEE is all about having fun. The show is filled with laughter, games and dancing. So imagine this, while the people in the ABS-CBN studio was having fun, shouting, giggling and dancing, the people outside the studio several kilometers away were grieving and crying in the funeral procession of one of our most loved former leader.
