I use to eat a lot of Skittles when I was a kid. For those of you who do not know what it is, it’s a chewy fruit flavored sweet whose ingredients is mainly sugar and hydrogenated vegetable oil along with fruit juice, citric acid and natural and artificial flavors. I haven’t eaten Skittles for a long time already. I think the last time I ate a Skittle was when I as in high school. When I was a kid, I can only eat Skittles when somebody brings a bag from abroad. I don’t even know if it is for sale here in the Philippines presently. Skittles is marketed by Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company which is a division of my favorite chocolate company Mars, Inc. (I love their nougat based chocolates, especially “3 musketeers” chocolate bar I could go on and on eating those bars forgetting diets that work ) Anyway, Skittles is giving away a free bag of Skittles if you invite friends to view a certain page. Help me get a bag of skittles by visiting the free Skittles giveaway page. You could also get a … [Read more...]
Videos of the Chicago Air and Water Show 2009
This coming Saturday, August 15 and August 16, 2009, the City of Chicago, Illinois U.S.A will be holding the Chicago Air and Water Show 2009. Chicago Air and Water Show is America’s largest free air and water show and is considered one of the world’s largest spectator shows. About 2.2 million gather in Chicago every year to watch the Chicago Air and Water Show. This year, despite the economic crisis, all systems go for the Chicago Air and Water Show 2009 ! Show starts at 10 a.m and ends at 4 p.m. Both the air and water events have been combined to one continuous show. Most of the events will take place at North Avenue Beach; however most of the activities can be viewed in the city skyline and lakefront. I wish I will be personally there to see the events take place, anyway I’ll just watch it in youtube. If you have never been to this spectacular even, while waiting for the videos of the Chicago Air and water show 2009, check out last year’s videos: … [Read more...]
My 2008 U.S elections experience
It was a cool sunny day in Sun Valley, California where I started to line up to vote in the U.S elections. People were starting to line up to cast their vote. I was number 30 on the line sandwiched between an African-American woman who read a book while waiting for the queue and a blonde who kept on calling her cell phone. Poooooffff! I was just day dreaming. Seriously, I never lined up to vote in California. I wish I did, but I couldn’t because I was in Cebu City, Philippines when it all happened. Despite the distance, technology has somehow made a way to let me feel the euphoria of the U.S elections. The Cebu Blogger’s society through the efforts of Political blogger Kevin Ray Chua got invited to observe the U.S elections. I woke up early since I have to have my annual physical checkup courtesy of my insurer, Philam Life. (They want to make sure that they won’t loose money so they keep on checking my health condition regularly hehehehe?) After spending an hour or more at … [Read more...]
Cebu Blogger’s Society and the October 23 meet-up
Part of a blogger’s life are offline blogging activities. I’ve heard that in the United States blogger’s have to chip in for most blogging meet ups. Not to worry they have so much money over there ? We are so fortunate in the Philippines that sponsors and advertisers are so generous to bloggers. Last Thursday October 23, 2008 The Digital Filipino Club organized a blogger’s meet up at the Waterfront hotel. The event is sponsored by PAGCOR, one of the latest corporate members of the Digital Filipino Club. The event was attended by more than a hundred people. About 80 % or more of the attendees are bloggers. Some of those who attended were non-bloggers but were working in information technology related jobs. Others who attended are what I call as “blogging sympathizers.” These are people who are very interested in blogging but have not yet committed their time or resource to it. I have brought with me six “blogging sympathizers.” I’ve been spreading the “blogging” gospel everywhere I … [Read more...]
What Samsung should do to improve Samsung Fun Club
Members of the Cebu Blogger’s Society (CBS) were given the privilege to be invited and given VIP access to Samsung Fun Club Day in Cebu. I arrived at around 7 p.m, went straight to the food court and looked around to see where the Cebu Blogger’s where sitting. Clarence of www.dahonglaya.com spotted me and led me to where CBS was standing by. I was then introduced to Hazel Javier. I forgot what her exact job title was, but I remember it has something to do with marketing. She gave us a jacket, tickets to the Parokya ni Edgar concert and some information about the event I failed to get pictures, so I have to borrow from a fellow CBS member. Pictures are courtesty of Beejing of www.ibeejing.com. Samsung Fun Club is an avenue wherein Samsung mobile phone users could learn more about their mobile phones in a very interactive and dynamic way. Instead of asking people to merely visit the Samsung Fun Club website, Samsung is taking the web to the people “live.” This thought is … [Read more...]
