As I do my usual blog hopping, I try to emulate the good things that other bloggers do to improve their blog. I noticed that in some blogs, ads were strategically placed within the post in small square boxes. Logically if the ads were placed within the post itself people are most likely to click on the ad especially if it is relevant and related to the post that they are reading. This helps the blogger learn additional income especially when they are displaying adsense ads. I wanted to achieve this effect but I did not know how. I did not want to “hack” my way into my word press theme since I am no word press expert and I don’t want to get into the hassle of “crashing” my wordpress theme. So I decided that a plugin is the best solution to this problem. I was sure that there is already somebody out there who has developed a solution to this problem. Ask and it shall be given, seek and ye shall find, yep, I found out the right plugin to achieve what I was looking for. Let the … [Read more...]

Applying Blue Ocean Strategy in the Philippines Bar exam review
Blue Ocean Strategy is a corporate strategy that aims to tap unclaimed markets making competition irrelevant. The strategy is embodied in the book entitled “Blue Ocean Strategy” by Professors W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne and Published by Harvard Business School Press. The authors claim that the Blue Ocean Strategy is a result of several years of study of strategic moves by over 30 industries in a span of 100 years. In the book, “Blue Ocean” refers to an untapped market, a market wherein there is only little or no competition at all enabling anyone to claim the market for his own since it is not yet too crowded. Want to get wealthy ? Think like the bank
Once upon a time an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) started working abroad. At the age of 29 he had already saved a total of P 100,000.00 (Philippine peso) Since the only investment vehicle he knew about was putting his money at the bank he went to the bank and deposited his P 100,000.00. The bank manager gladly accepted the money and even recommended that he put it at a time deposit account so that it would yield a higher interest rate at 4 % per annum. So he placed his money in the time deposit account and waited until he reached the age of 65. At the age of 65 he went back to the bank and asked to withdraw the P 100,000.00 in his time deposit account. Lo and behold his P100,000.00 already became P 400,000.00 because of the interest. So he withdrew his money from the bank and lived happily ever after. Is this a “live happily ever after” story or not? Do you consider this OFW as somebody who has “wisely” handled his money? Is he really earning the maximum potential for his … [Read more...]
