“There is nothing to fear but fear itself.” So said the great President Franklin D. Roosevelt, how true and how timely is what he said even if he said this several decades ago.
Living in the verge of the 21st century, we can’t help it that people have a lot of fears. Fear about the status of the economy and how it is going to affect us personally, fear about war, terror, global warming and fear about everything else. With all that’s happening in the world today, it is no wonder a research reveals that ordinary children are more fearful than psychiatric patients in the 1950s.
In the mix style of comfortable story telling-expository preaching complemented with modern day fictional and non-fictional illustrations and exmaples, Max Lucado one by one discusses the possible fears that each and every one us fast on a day to day basis in his new book, “FEARLESS.” From small personal fears like the fear of not mattering, to fearing the most dreaded things like the fear of global calamity, Lucado shows us that the there is nothing to fear not even fear itself not only because Jesus Christ commands us not to fear but because he is with us in the flames, in life’s most terrible storms and even amidst the calm of deadly silence. He is in control.
Despite the simplicity of the theological truth that we have nothing to be afraid of because Jesus Christ is in the same boat with us, we oftentimes forget such simple truth. I sometimes forget such simple truth. This book has reminded me once again to trust God in everything. There is no need to worry, no need to fear. No need to worry about the past, the present or future. No need to worry about anything else.
Max Lucado has grandiosely presented such simple truth and opened up a treasure trove of what was once I regarded as simple nuggets of wisdom. Certainly, God is in control and he loves me very much and nothing can ever separate me from his love. As the apostle Paul said in Romans chapter 8 the last part “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? . . . For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Because of this affirming fact, I can now re-assure myself that I can live a life without fear, and face my daily existence with an attitude of being FEARLESS.
It’s time for you to face a life without fear. Imagine your life without fear. Imagine a life without face acne and no more need for face moisturizers hehehe. Be fearless ! Fearlessly grab your copy today!
