As I wrote in my pervious posts, one of the greatest sources of a higher traffic is the optimization of the proper keywords and in order to do this we must be able to search out high trend, low density keywords or what I call personally as HITLOD.
For those of you who are trying to drive traffic (I hope your driveway alarm does not ring because of this hehehe) into your blogs through optimizing keywords you can read more about this in my post entitled “A step by step guide on how to optimize high trend-low density keywords.”
I am not an SEO expert but I have learned a lot through the experiences of others and my own experience. I had my share of success stories with regards to optimizing certain keywords and I wish to share that experience to those who are new in Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I regularly post about my SEO experiences and share good keywords from time to time. You can visit the “Making money online, Blogging, SEO” for more SEO tips and some good keywords to optimize.
I believe that in order to find HITLOD keywords, you do not have to search for them. They will just come to you just like how great artists and inventors suddenly come up with a brilliant idea.
I have also discovered great keywords when I go about my day to day experiences. For example, after I watched the movie 21 I began to search the internet for the real story behind the movie. (I always do this if I encounter a movie which says “based on a true story. I normally do not rely entirely on the Hollywood account because they often stretch the story too far to fit the script)
The story behind 21 the movie is based on the book “Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six M.I.T. Students Who Took Vegas for Millions” by Ben Mezrich. Although a work of fiction, the events in the book are loosely based on the life of Jeffrey Ma, a brilliant MIT student who was a member of the MIT Blackjack Team.
The MIT blackjack team was group of students and ex-students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, and colleges who used counting cards techniques to in the game of blackjack.
Their operation was impressive, very organized and run like a real business. It said that they raked in an estimated $3 million to $5 million U.S dollars by simply counting cards in the game of black jack while playing in casinos worldwide.
The “business strategy” of the group was that “Blackjack is a beatable game” and you only have to use simple math in order to beat the game of black jack. This can be achieved by simply counting cards.
After I read several articles on the MIT black jack team and listened to the interviews of Jeffrey Ma. I realized that people would start to emulate them by gooogling “black jack”, “counting cards in blackjack”, “counting cards”, “how to count cards” or other similar keywords. I tried several keyword combinations and the best one I could find was “counting cards.” I became hooked on the “counting cards” fever myself, read some articles and watched some videos on how “counting cards” was done. Although I really do not want to do it myself (Since I do not gamble) nor do I desire to learn playing blackjack through counting cards. I was just fascinated with the math involved. I will perhaps give post some cool videos on how counting cards is done.
The keyword “counting cards” has been referred to by only 443,000. The Google trends graph shows a spike. This could have occurred somewhere after the movie was released in theaters in late March 2008.
Since the search for the term “counting cards” only began in 2008 it can be surmised that interest in the keyword “counting cards” was brought about by the release of the movie 21.
“Counting cards” may be a good HITLOD keyword and it’s being high trend could only be temporary. After several years, months or even weeks I believe people will stop searching for the “counting cards” keyword after interest in the movie has waned. (I was thinking that perhaps I should further classify HITLOD keywords this gives me an idea for another post ?)
Nevertheless, “Counting cards” is still a HITLOD keyword for the time being, so strike when the iron is hot ! For as long as the movie is still hot, people will still search for the “counting cards” keyword and if you have properly optimized it, it will perhaps drive hundreds or even thousands of visitors to your site. So blog about “counting cards” today and count the traffic to your site ! (Perhaps late you could also count the money that comes with it hehehehe)
